Disinformation in Venezuela, a project developed by NGO Medianálisis in partnership with Global Americans.

Medianálisis was established in April 2010 with the aim of promoting discussion and study on the role of independent and local journalism in Venezuela. Throughout its first decade of activities, it has held over 300 training workshops for journalists and public discussion forums, conducted national surveys regarding the status of journalism in Venezuela on five occasions, and published two research books. It has also performed two dozen studies that comprise a diagnosis of journalism and freedom of expression in the South American country.

Medianálisis has served as an incubator for innovative projects. In June 2016, Cotejo.Info, the first media outlet devoted to fact checking and data journalism in the country, was created. Later, in July 2019, the Venezuelan Fake News Observatory (Observatorio Venezolano de Fake News), a pioneering initiative in Venezuela, was launched. We also collaborate closely with En Este País (In This Country), a show broadcast on Red Nacional de Radio Fe y Alegría (Faith and Joy National Radio Network).
